Training of Waldorf teachers for the international school movement
German Waldorf schools encourage and promote the increase of Waldorf schools by means of exchange of ideas and experience, advising and by and financing teacher training places in German teacher training centres (about 20% of all students come from abroad).
The development of Waldorf schools in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc is supported by the International Association for Eastern Europe (IAO). This Association organizes advanced training courses which are held in Eastern Europe by experienced and qualified West European Waldorf teachers (more information under IAO).
Financial support
Further worldwide support of Waldorf schools is given (granted) by Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners. The ”Friends” collect donations and take care that the full amount of this money is used for projects abroad. Furthermore, they cooperate for instance with the BMZ (German Ministry for Aid and Development) in projects in developing countries.
